Building the Pipeline of Healthcare

Professional development and education provide the bedrock for practice in the field of healthcare.  Building the pipeline through the implementation and promotion of new and improved interventions in diagnostic work in Liberia will be the bedrock of Liberia Medicals Inc. (LMI)’s work with other international agencies, to provide consultation and support the Ministry of Health in a concerted effort to meet the national healthcare challenges.

Therefore, the recruitment and retention of staff must incorporate training and professional development on a regular basis in order to maintain and advance quality service throughout the organization.

In addition to the aforementioned internal education, LMI will make its facility available to medical and nursing training institutions to enhance the clinical practice of students.

  • We seek a partnership relationship with A.M. Dogliotti School of Medicine, the University of Liberia, and schools of nursing and laboratory technology to have LMI serve as the source facility for training, education, and practicum in the laboratory and radiologic diagnostics and pathology studies per their respective curriculum
  • We will establish a clinical curriculum and standard of practice in collaboration with the schools of medicine, nursing, and lab. technology in order to meet the educational needs of students in rotation
  • We will organize seminars and workshops addressing public health awareness for healthy living and approaches to disease prevention; forums addressing laboratory and radiologic diagnostics for medical practitioners, and other healthcare professionals (nurses and technicians)
  • We will solicit the participation of specialists on relevant topics as guest speakers
  • We will distribute souvenirs relevant to subjects of discussion at seminars and workshops
  • We will schedule monthly one-hour radio/TV public health education with Q & A session
